Work and education

SUMMARY

A communicator by nature and nurture, I've worked in corporate communications, both ad and PR firms, as well as with governments and non-profits. A savvy consultant and writer, I've covered the communications gamut -- public, media, employee, community, government, small business, big business, marketing.

My background also touches a lot of sectors: travel, tourism, hospitality, maritime, health and wellness, food and agriculture, arts and culture, retail, technology (see a partial list of past clients below). Writing and editing span web copy, social media and blog posts, short stories, newsletter articles, reports, op-eds, fact sheets, direct mail, e-books, non-fiction manuscripts and more.

What gets me going? Meaningful contribution, building relationships, and experience. To use a Lean In term, my career path more closely resembles a jungle gym than a ladder. A life-long learner, I read, watch trends, and continually build my skills. I listen, observe, ask compelling questions, challenge convention, and synthesize. I'm recognized for messaging savvy, a high level of cultural competence, the ability to navigate dynamic environments, and working collaboratively.
